Boomers fall 4-3 in 10 innings

LOVES PARK - The Schaumburg Boomers suffered a 4-3 loss to the Rockford Aviators in 10 innings Saturday night.

All-star Joey Wagman kept the Boomers at bay most of the night, striking out 11. Schaumburg grabbed a 1-0 lead when Alexi Colon crossed on a wild pitch in the fourth. Rockford scored 3 straight runs to grab a 3-1 lead against Seth Webster, who worked 6⅓ innings and became the franchise's all-time leader in strikeouts, passing Matt Kuna.

The Boomers played longball in the ninth, tying the score. Colon homered to lead off the inning, and Gerard Hall homered with one out to forced extras. Rockford walked off in the 10th to salvage a game in the series.

The Boomers (30-24) enjoy two consecutive off-days before beginning a three-game road series with the Florence Freedom on Tuesday night at 5:35 p.m.
