Bolingbrook man arrested in Elgin on weapons charges

A 23-year-old Bolingbrook man has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after confronting another man in his vehicle, Elgin police said in a news release Saturday.

Just before midnight, Elgin police responded to to the 800 block of Saint Charles where the victim said he was in a vehicle with a subject that he knew, when a man pointed a handgun at him and ordered him out of the vehicle.

Members of the Unit for Special Assignment located Christian Anderson, of the 400 block of Wildflower Way, as he was attempting to leave the area in a vehicle, police said. Anderson was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a handgun and ammunition.

Anderson was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault. He was scheduled to appear Saturday in Kane County bond court.
