Registration for U-46 S.A.F.E. program now open

Registration for the 2014-2015 S.A.F.E. Program is now open. S.A.F.E. provides before- and after-school child care during all regular school days for U-46 students currently enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grade whose parents are working or pursuing their own education.

"Our S.A.F.E. Program is a wonderful opportunity for U-46 students to play and learn in a structured environment," explains Mamie Carter, the S.A.F.E. Program coordinator.

Students enrolled in S.A.F.E. receive a cold breakfast and afternoon snack. Activities include arts and crafts, reading, STEM-based activities, organized games, computer time, gym or outdoor time and homework assistance.

Parents must complete a registration form each year. For those who register by June 30, a credit of $25 will be applied to the child's registration. Visit www.u-46.org for registration forms and a list of schools that offer S.A.F.E.

If parents would like to register by email, they should submit a completed registration form to SAFEChildcare@u-46.org by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 11, in order for their child to start S.A.F.E. the first week of school. Parents will receive an invoice for the first week's payment via email.

If parents would like to register by mail, they can send a completed registration form to the S.A.F.E. Office at 355 E. Chicago St., Room 225, in Elgin. Payment for the first week of S.A.F.E. should be enclosed with the form.

For additional information about S.A.F.E. and registration, visit www.u-46.org or call (847) 888-5000, ext. 6981.
