Broadway star joins local favorite for Drury Lane mystery

Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook announced casting for its Chicago area premiere of "The Game's Afoot," Ken Ludwig's award-winning suspense comedy from 2011.

Drury Lane artistic director William Osetek helms the production which marks the return of Derek Hasenstab ("The Lion King." Broadway and national tour) and eight-time Joseph Jefferson Award winner Alene Robertson ("Mame").

The action unfolds on Christmas Eve, 1935, at the Connecticut estate of actor William Gillette, renowned for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on Broadway. After one of his guests is murdered, Gillette assumes for real the role of inspector before any more of his guests fall prey to the killer.

Previews begin Aug. 28. The show opens Sept. 4 at 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace. Call (630) 530-0111 or see drurylane.com for more information.
