Strangled Illinois woman's ex-husband found dead

PEORIA — Peoria officials say the ex-husband of a strangled woman whose murder investigation is ongoing has died of apparent suicide.

The Peoria County coroner tells the Journal Star (http://bit.ly/1nC3QMr ) 51-year-old Daniel Wilson was pronounced dead Monday after his body was found in a vehicle. The coroner says a hose was running from the vehicle's exhaust pipe into the trunk. A note was found inside.

Wilson was the ex-husband of 56-year-old Terri Anderson. Her decomposed body was found in a drainage ditch nearly two weeks after she went missing in May.

Wilson was living with Anderson when she went missing and was the last person to confirm being with her.

The Peoria Police captain tells the Journal Star that police will continue investigating her death as a homicide.
