Snappers stun Cougars

One out from another victory, the Kane County Cougars gave up a 2-run homer to Tyler Marincov in the ninth inning and dropped a 3-2 decision to the Beloit Snappers in Midwest League action on Monday at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth inning, Trey Martin and Kevin Brown of the Cougars (17-7, 62-33) drew two-out walks and David Bote delived a double that scored both of his teammates.

In search of his 10th win, Cougars starter Daury Torrez worked 7 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits but was not involved in the decision. Michael Wagner (1-2) blew the save and suffered the loss.
