Police: man tore another man's ear during fight

A Scranton, Pennsylvania man is scheduled to appear in court July 25 after authorities say he tore part of another man's ear and left him with a concussion during an altercation late last month at a Schaumburg business.

Nariman Karimov, 23, was charged with battery after the June 27 incident in the 600 block of Lunt Avenue, police said.

According to reports, Karimov told officers he and his father were making a delivery at the business when his father claimed an employee punched him. Karimov confronted the employee, according to reports, sparking the altercation than ended only after another employee pulled a gun and ordered him to leave.

The injured employee was treated Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. The employee who pulled the gun has a valid Firearm Owner's ID card and a concealed-weapons permit, police said.
