Crews searching South Bend river for woman

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Emergency crews have been searching the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend for a woman who was reportedly swept away.

Boats were being used to search the river along a downtown park before dawn Tuesday. Crews were called to the site about 1 a.m.

WNDU-TV and WSBT-TV report the woman was with a group of people at the park before she went into the river and began struggling in the current.
