Gascoigne, Bandits shut down Racers

The Chicago Bandits extended their winning streak to four straight with a 7-2 victory over the Akron Racers on Friday at the Ballpark at Rosemont.

Michelle Gascoigne of the Bandits (12-8) shut down the Racers (10-12) with a complete game, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 7 strikeouts en route to her third win of the season.

The Bandits' Emily Allard went 3-for-4, including a triple, and scored 3 runs to pace a 10-hit attack.

The Bandits snapped a 1-1 tie with 4 runs in the third inning that included RBI from Danielle Zymkowitz, Megan Wiggins, Kristen Butler and Brittany Cervantes. Later, Kristen Butler (3 RBI) hit her fourth home run.

The Bandits look to sweep the three-game series when they host the Racers at 7;35 p.m.
