Gacy investigator to discuss case
The arresting officer and lead investigator in the John Wayne Gacy serial murder investigation will talk about the case during two upcoming events sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center.
Former Des Plaines police detective Joseph Kozenczak will discuss the case at the history center's Coffee Talk set from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Heritage/Brookdale Plaza Des Plaines, 800 S. River Road. Registration is required.
Kozenczak and his wife Karen, co-authors of "The Chicago Killer: The Hunt for Serial Killer John Wayne Gacy," also will discuss their book from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the history center, 781 Pearson St.
"Most of the time, the History Center brings in someone who has spent time researching bygone events and people," said Philip Mohr, curator of the history center, in a news release. "This time we will have one of the history makers to give us a personal retrospective on his involvement in and the impact of the Gacy case."
