Some poor reasons to tie up highway traffic
I realize this is not a very local question, but what is with Arsenal Road out near Joliet, I-55 and Lincoln National Cemetery? Seems it has been under construction for the last 10 years or more. Are they building it with a spoon? A teaspoon?
On June 17, I was southbound on I-355, and traffic was stopped all the way from Biesterfield Road and Thorndale Road (current construction sites) for the Elgin-O'Hare extension and expansion. Well it was 3:45 p.m., and all the workers were long gone! All of them. None to be seen anywhere. Why is this?
Traffic was 2 mph all the way to St. Charles Road, where about 15 protesters were standing on the overpass with "Impeach Obama" signs hanging over.
I am all for legal rights, but for about 15 people at the expense of about 30,000? Why do they allow this?
