Stay off the grass, Arlington Hts. paradegoers

Once again, Arlington Heights is reminding people not to "reserve" their spots for the Fourth of July parade until 7 p.m., July 3, the night before. Reserving a space with blankets, tarps, chairs, etc. to ensure a good viewing spot can damage the grass, impede pedestrians, and is problematic for homeowners along the route who need to water their parkways, mow their lawns, or put their garbage and recycling at the curb for pick-up. The parade starts at 10 a.m., Friday July 4, from Oakton Street and Dunton Avenue, goes south on Dunton Avenue to Miner Street and east on Miner Street to Recreation Park.
