Painting contractor association awards 13 scholarships

Finishing Contractors Association of Illinois

The Finishing Contractors Association of Illinois (FCAI) recently awarded 13 college bound students scholarships during their Scholarship Awards Event held at Maggiano's Little Italy in Naperville on June 18.

The association has helped more than 340 students with more than $300,000 in scholarships over the past 19 years.

State Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia addressed students and provided encouraging comments during the event. Ken Ober, FCAI director and chairman of the Northern Illinois Painting and Drywall Institute, and Mark Palmer, FCAI executive director and CEO, were the event emcees.

Scholarships are available each year to students that are sponsored by a FCAI contractor with money raised from various outings and fundraisers.

The Finishing Contractors Association of Illinois represents the union painting, drywall finishing and glazing industries in Painters District Council #30 Northern and Central Illinois.
