Lake County deputy loses job

A suspended Lake County sheriff's deputy found not guilty of criminal obstruction of justice and solicitation of a sex act has lost his appeal of his firing.

In a news release, the sheriff's department says an arbitrator this month agreed the department was justified in firing Eric Francke. The arbitrator - brought in when Francke appealed his firing - agreed that the department had proved off-duty misconduct and that Francke had sought sex in return for money and then lied to investigators about it.

The 33-year-old Francke was one of three men charged after a woman alleged two men forced her to work as a prostitute and that she was paid to have sex with Francke.

The two men pleaded guilty. A judge found Francke not guilty in December.
