Firm gets tax breaks, agrees to stay in Illinois
ROSCOE - A northern Illinois manufacturer that said it was considering moving to Wisconsin will instead move from one Illinois town to another after the state agreed to $1.7 million in subsidies.
According to the Rockford Register Star, All World Machinery Supply Inc. will move from Harvard to Roscoe after the state agreed to a package of tax breaks and cash to improve infrastructure. The towns north of Rockford are about 20 miles apart.
The company employs 72 people and builds parts for machines.
All World Machinery President David Koepp said he hopes to have 150 to 175 employees within five years.
Koepp said the state of Wisconsin made "a very strong offer" if the company relocated across the state line.
Local governments also agreed to tax abatements for the company.
