Three charged in beating:
Three men were charged in connection with the beating of a man with a baseball bat and crow bar-type object in Libertyville, police said Tuesday. Libertyville police said they responded to a call of a disturbance at 12:30 a.m. May 28 on the 1200 block of Loyola Drive. A woman told police her boyfriend had been jumped and beaten. The 22-year-old man had facial injuries and fractures and was hospitalized for a time, police said. The victim knew his attackers, police said. Police arrested: Damarqus D. Wilson, 21, of the 600 block of Diamond Pointe Drive, Mundelein; Kevin M. Doyle, 20, of the 900 block of Mayfair Drive, Libertyville; and Juan J. Barbosa-Gomez, 21, of the 200 block of East Skokie Road, Lake Bluff. Each was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and mob action. Doyle and Barbosa-Gomez also were charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. Police said the attack was part of an ongoing dispute. Wilson remained jailed Tuesday on $50,000 bond with a June 30 court date. Doyle was released after posting 10 percent of a $25,000 bond. Barbosa-Gomez also remained jailed on $100,000 bond. His court date is June 23.
