Boomers can't hold lead, lose 4-2 to ThunderBolts

The Schaumburg Boomers saw a 2-run lead slip away as they suffered a 4-2 loss to the Windy City ThunderBolts in the opener of a road series.

Schaumburg opened a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Mark Nelson recorded an RBI single to drive home Justin Vasquez, Wth one away, Michael Valadez plated Ty Nelson with a single.

But then Windy City scored four unanswered runs to grab the victory, plating a pair in the sixth to take the lead. Starter Cal Bowling suffered the loss, working five innings and allowing three runs. Alexi Colon, Justin Vasquez and Mark Nelson notched two hits apiece for the Boomers.
