Bourke out as Bloomingdale administrator
Bloomingdale has parted ways with former Village Administrator Martin Bourke after less than four years.
Village President Franco Coladipietro said Monday that the village finalized Bourke's “settlement package” at last month's village board meeting.
“It was just a mutual decision between us to go separate ways,” Coladipietro said. “That's all I can say.”
Bourke replaced retiring Dan Wennerholm on Nov. 29, 2010.
Bourke's career started in 1981 as an intern in Carol Stream. He later served as assistant village administrator in Bloomingdale from 1984 to 1986. Bourke left Bloomingdale for the top administrative post in Winfield and, later, served as village manager in Western Springs.
Coladipietro said there is no timetable for selecting Bourke's replacement.
“(Assistant Village Administrator) Barb Webber is our point person for all administrative matters anyway, so we're doing OK,” he said. “We have very strong and talented department heads in every position so between the time I spend there, the work that Barb does and our department heads running the show, we're in good shape.”
