Junior police explorers camp:

Lincolnshire Police and Stevenson High School's PREP program are offering a special course for area kids, grades 6 through 8, to learn about the basics of policing. The program is scheduled to run June 23-26, 9 a.m. to noon. The Junior Police Explorers Camp is designed to introduce young adults to the law enforcement profession. Enrollees will learn about the duties and responsibilities of a police officer through classroom instruction and hands-on practical applications. Lincolnshire Police will provide instructional training in topics including, crime scene investigations, fingerprinting, patrol tactics, radio communications, and traffic stops. It's an opportunity for youth to interact with law enforcement professionals and to gain insight into the community's police department.
