Elk Grove High School Choir to perform with Foreigner tonight

The Elk Grove High School Choir is scheduled to perform onstage Friday night with Foreigner at Northerly Island in Chicago.

The choir was the winner of a 104.3 KHITS radio contest in which the public got to vote online for their favorite high school choir performing the Foreigner song, "I Want To Know What Love Is."

The Elk Grove choir beat out groups from Stevenson, Niles North, Lockport and Merrillville high schools in the "Perform With Foreigner Contest."

"We are so thankful for this awesome opportunity to perform with Foreigner," said choral director Sarah Catt in a news release. "It will be a great way to end an amazing school year for our choral program."

The school will receive $1,000 for its choral program.

The concert, featuring Foreigner and Styx, begins at 7 p.m. at the First Merit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.
