Mount Prospect home catches fire

A fire at a home in Mount Prospect Thursday night caused some $30,000 in damage, authorities said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the house fire on the 100 block of South We Go Trail about 6 p.m., according to the Mount Prospect Fire Department.

When they arrived, they were confronted with heavy smoke from the eves of the second floor and several roof vents of the home, according to a news release.

The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Fire officials continued to investigate the cause of the blaze, which they say started outside the structure.
