Click It Or Ticket Awareness Continues in West Chicago

West Chicago, Illinois: May 30, 2014 - Recently, the West Chicago Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois in an annual effort to get more motorists to buckle up in the front and back seat, and save more lives. The Click It Or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization, which was supported by the Illinois Department of Transportation, was conducted from May 9 - 26, 2014.

During the mobilization, West Chicago police officers issued:

• 27 seat belt citations

• 1 child safety seat citation

• 2 DUI arrests

• 6 no valid driver's license citations

• 34 uninsured motorists

• 17 speeding citations

• 1 possession of drug paraphernalia arrest

The annual Click It Or Ticket mobilization may be over in West Chicago, but according to Sergeant Spencer Kroning, that is no excuse to stop using your seat belt. "Our officers are out all year long. If you or your passengers, in the front seat or back seat, are caught not wearing a seat belt, day or night, you will be cited for the safety violation," he said.
