Village roads are in deplorable shape

This question is directed to the Village of Mount Prospect Public Works.

Why are we thinking about improving and expanding and adding a driving range to the Mount Prospect golf course at great expense, millions, I've read? What percentage of the village use that course?

All this while our streets remain deplorable, both main thoroughfares, Route 14, Route 12, Route 83, and most side streets within the village. We had better road conditions for my tour in Vietnam in 1967.

Public Works tells me they are either state, or county roads and not under our jurisdiction. I have hardly seen any of our public works truck crews out patching all of the many potholes and swollen speed bumps that damage car suspensions.

Illinois has the worst roads in the nation. I have lived here in Mount Prospect since 1979. It has gone down hill as far a quality of life, while property taxes have constantly risen.
