St. Edward's Zdroik tosses no-hitter

St. Edward sweeps: Sophomore Lindsay Zdroik threw a no-hitter in the opener and freshman Emily Stapay won her fifth game of the season in the nightcap as St. Edward (18-15) swept Regina Dominican 7-0 and 8-6 at Judson University. Zdroik struck out 13 and walked 1 in her gem. She also went 4-for-4 at the plate with 2 doubles, a triple and an RBI. Megan Strong (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Allison Stratman (2-for-3, 2 RBI), Ryann Scully (2B) and Jasmine Deleon (RBI) also contributed to the Game 1 win. In Game 2, Scully (2-for-3, 2B), Rachel Lesh (3B), Shannon McShane (RBI) and Deleon (RBI) led the St. Edward offense.

Marian Catholic 6, Huntley 4: Taylor Stone was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, Megan Baczewski had a double and an RBI and losing pitcher Kateri Conklin had 2 hits for the Red Raiders at the Joliet West quad.

Joliet West 8, Huntley 3: The Red Raiders (19-16) had just 3 hits in this loss at Joliet. Michelle Caputi had an RBI and Kateri Conklin was the losing pitcher.

Bartlett 8, Montini 6: Kayla Haberstich and Alyssa Nowak had home runs for the Hawks (26-7) in this win at the Bandits High School Jamboree in Rosemont. Winning pitcher Holly Pagan was also 4-for-4 at the plate.
