Three semis colide on I-90 near Route 47

The Illinois State Police is still investigating a crash involving three semitrailers early Thursday that left one truck driver injured near Huntley.

Authorities said three trucks collided on westbound Interstate 90 near Route 47 at 6:33 a.m.

One truck was traveling eastbound on I-90 when it struck the concrete median and entered the westbound lane and hit the two westbound trucks, State Police Master Sgt. Paul Carlos said.

"We do not have a cause," Carlos said, adding that roadway conditions were good.

The Elgin Fire Department took one of the truck drivers involved in the crash to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin with minor injuries to his foot. No one else was transported.

Lanes on the interstate were closed for about 90 minutes while the crash was cleaned up and investigated, authorities said.

"They are doing some median wall work, shoring up the concrete median barrier wall," Carlos said. "We have a commercial motor vehicle officer currently inspecting the trucks that were involved."

The accident was cleared at about 8:30 a.m. The trucks are being relocated to an accident investigation site.
