Registration open for Arlington Hts. community bike ride

Arlington Heights residents still have a few weeks to register for the village's first Community Bike Ride on June 14.

The ride, which will include a 10-mile course and a 2-mile course for children and families, is intended to raise awareness of the cycling paths across the village.

The 10-mile ride will start at 9:30 a.m. at Recreation Park, the intersection of Haddow Avenue and Miner Street.

The 2-mile ride will begin at 10 a.m. at Cronin Park, the intersection of Grove Street and Highland Avenue.

Registered participants will be entered in several drawings, held at Harmony Park after the ride, to receive prizes from local businesses.

The forms to sign up and course maps for the rides are available at http://www.vah.com/news/?ArticleId=655.

Parents must accompany children 15 and younger.
