Train hits car stuck on tracks in Aurora

A train struck a vehicle in Aurora Wednesday morning after the vehicle got trapped between the crossing gates on Ogden Avenue.

About 8 a.m., a 53-year-old Oswego man driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring got stuck on the railroad tracks near Frontenac Street after traffic in front of him stopped, police said.

The rear-end of the vehicle was still over the tracks when a northbound freight train struck the vehicle. Nobody was injured.

The driver was cited for disobeying a signal indicating the approach of a train, police said.
