Glad to hear how well teens are doing

This week's Daily Herald has featured some of the area's finest young people. Earlier in the week readers were introduced to some of our brightest, hardworking, and committed young scholars. It was a delight to read of their accomplishments and dreams.

On Saturday the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills contest winners were featured. The contest feature provided a nice overview of the young people who are developing career skills in the practical arts.

All of the high achievers deserve congratulations for their dedication, determination, and hard work in both fields.

Further congratulations are in order to their teachers, counselors and mentors. Without the active encouragement of interested adults, the talented young people featured would find it harder to achieve success. Appreciation should be extended to Ford and AAA for their sponsorship of the auto skills state competition.

Finally, a debt of gratitude is due to the Daily Herald staff who seeks out these good news stories that demonstrate the commitment and skill of our young.

Thanks to the teens, teachers, corporations and the newspaper staff.
