They act like royalty, not public servants

They rule by decree. Most often without the fetters of the Constitution or laws of any kind. For them, the laws are to be obeyed by others.

Take the story of a mayor and former chief of staff to the president who, after proclaiming that speed cameras and red light cameras are not for revenue but for the safety of our children, is caught on video running red lights and speeding through school zones on dozens of occasions.

How about a president who jauntily and repeatedly assures a nervous populace that everyone who likes their doctor and health care insurance can keep them. In this case, it turned out, everyone meant those who are favored by the president. The health care law only applies to those who the president deems unfriendly or not politically connected. Why else would big businesses and labor unions and government employees be curiously exempt?

These politicians selectively enforce the law so as to create maximum benefit ... for them. Contemptible behavior by duly elected public servants, but not by royalty.
