Fire starts in garage of Geneva home

No injuries were reported Saturday afternoon in a fire contained to the garage of a Geneva home in the Fisher Farms subdivision, authorities said.

A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the garage on the 3100 block of Larrabee Drive and alerted the residents, who called 911 at about 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

The blaze did not extend to the house, the Geneva Fire Department said in a news release.

Two vehicles in the driveway and vinyl siding on a neighboring house were damaged by the fire's radiant heat, the release stated.

Units from the Batavia, St. Charles, Elburn and West Chicago fire departments also responded.
