Mt. Prospect walking club meets Tuesdays

The Mount Prospect Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Senior Walking Club for residents will start meeting for the season Tuesday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the park along Centennial Drive behind the Mount Prospect Plaza.

The free program allows residents of any ability level, from healthy and fit to those who use walkers or carry oxygen, to participate. Residents walk under the supervision of the Medical Reserve Corps nurses and other health professional volunteers.

The club will meet every Tuesday morning through the end of October. Last year, 25 residents participated. The paved, tree-lined path the club walks is located at the corner of Centennial Drive and Westgate Road. The path has a picnic table and several benches where walkers may rest as needed along the way. Parking is available along Centennial Drive.
