Warren 9, Fremd 5: Ben Dinter had Fremd for dinner.

The Warren infielder went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, 5 RBI and a run scored in the Blue Devils' 9-5 win.

Warren is now 17-9-1 on the season.

Dom Cuevas, Matt Burch and Sean Hannigan each had 2 hits for Warren while pitcher Wes Gordon got the win.

Grant 6, Burlington Central 5: It was home run central for Grant against Burlington Central. The Bulldogs got home runs from Simeon Lucas and Ryan Noda. For both, it was their eighth home run of the season. Noda's homer was a 3-run homer while Lucas drilled a single shot. Teammate Ryan Mason added 2 hits and drove in 2 runs for the Bulldogs (17-6). Pitcher Chad Baron got his first win of the season with 3 strikeouts in 3-plus innings.

Mundelein 12, Montini 3: Sam Osisek and Luke Adams both went 3-for-4 as Mundelein pounded out 16 hits. Osisek also had a double, as did Michael Metz, Reese Dolan, Derek Parola and Logan Reckert. Meanwhile, Ryan Hollander went 2-for-2 for Mundelein and pitcher Tyler Kozaritz got the win. The Mustangs are now 24-2 on the season.

Antioch splits: Antioch split a crossover doubleheader with Zion-Benton, 11-2, 5-10. In winning the first game, the Sequoits got 3 hits out of Sam Smithson and 2 hits apiece out of Travis Slywka and Nick Muskat. Both Slywka and Muskat had doubles. Pitcher Justin Stender got the win with 5 strikeouts. In the second game, Collin Prather drilled 2 home runs and finished with 4 RBI. Adam Harvey also had 2 hits for the Sequoits.

Vernon Hills wins, ties: Vernon Hills got a 3-2 win over Palatine in eight innings and then tied the Pirates, 1-1. In the first game, sophomore Matt Paszko made his first varsity start in right field for Vernon Hills. He wound up driving in the winning run. Teammates Jordan Freibrun and Connor McNamara each added 2 hits while Nick Newman earned his fifth win of the season in relief. In the second game, Jack Peacock drove in the Cougars' only run. Vernon Hills is now 19-7-1 on the season.

Johnsburg 5, Lakes 4: Lakes dropped to 13-9 with the loss.

The Eagles managed just 3 hits, from Justin Corona, Brian Gross and Justin Blasinski.

Hoffman Estates 5, Libertyville 4: Riley Lees had 2 hits (including a double), drove in a run and bagged a stolen base, but it wasn't enough for Libertyville.

Buffalo Grove 7, Lake Zurich 3: Danny Neises had 3 hits and Colton Wagner had 2 hits, including a double, for Lake Zurich.
