Conservative wing for Obama library?

It was with no surprise that I read our balanced-budget-challenged Democratic leadership in Springfield completely supports the squeezing of another $100 million from exhausted taxpayers to pay for an Illinois-based Obama library (DH 5/1/14).

I question the $100 million price tag. Like most government projections, that's probably just a fraction of the total cost. Furthermore, Mr. Obama's success in raising money is well documented. A few zips around the country in Air Force One during the end of his presidency should work just fine in raising the necessary dollars.

The only way I would be in favor of spending Illinois taxpayer money on an Obama legacy library is if conservatives would be allotted half the space to tell their side of the story. Greeting visitors in the east wing could be a recurring video loop: "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor," "If you like your health plan you can keep your health plan," "the average family will save $2,500 a year in health care costs" ...

Scrolling along the bottom of the video could be a reference to his well-earned 2013 Pinocchio-of-the-Year award.
