Leaving state if income tax goes up

Leaving state if income tax goes up

I disagree that a progressive state income tax will not harm the state of Illinois. A progressive state income tax will result in more productive Illinois residents leaving the state.

I am a physician and lived in Illinois all my life. Over the last several decades, I have seen a once great state ruined by Democratic politicians and their philosophy of taxing and spending.

Illinois government has a spending problem not a tax revenue problem. My brothers have moved to Florida and to Wisconsin. Several of my neighbors have moved to Texas. They have no regrets that they left Illinois. If the state income tax is raised, I am leaving also.

I work hard for my income and make significant financial and service contributions to our state and will not stay in Illinois if they raise my tax rate.
