Indiana man tells police he has right to kill dog
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - An Evansville man has been arrested on charges he struck his small dog with a golf club and told police who responded that he had the right to do it.
55-year-old Kenneth Allen Wayne Buckner remained in Vanderburgh County Jail on Sunday, according to jail records. He's charged with animal cruelty, marijuana possession, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. An attorney for him wasn't listed.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports when officers arrived Saturday, Buckner was poised to strike the dog again. When police told him to stop, he allegedly warned them off his property and said he would kill the dog if he wanted to.
He dropped the club when officers warned him again.
