Buffalo Grove 5, Stevenson 1: Brendon Murphy allowed visiting Stevenson just 2 singles and 3 walks as the Bison earned a nonconference baseball victory Saturday.

Ricky Strba drove in 2 runs, Andrew Cole had 2 hits and Dan Levato doubled for the Bison (6-14).

Maine West 5, Waukegan 1: Jordan Baird allowed 4 hits and struck out six in a complete-game victory to help the host Warriors win a Central Suburban crossover.

Chris Selgrad tripled and finished 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the offense effort for Maine West (6-12).

Dillon Ronan also had 2 hits, and Geoff Duckmann and Eric Outlaw each scored twice.

Hersey 21, Chicago College Prep 1 (5 inn.): The Huskies managed to produce 18 hits in 4 team at-bats in a nonconference victory.

Tanner Luke (3 IP) got the win and Zach Durec pitched 2 scoreless relief innings.

The main contributors for Hersey (9-11-1) offensively were Luis Rosado (3-for-3, 2 triples, 4 RBI), Andrew Segalla (3-for-4, 2 RBI), CJ Reichel (2-for-2, 2 RBI) and Nick Zouras (2-for-3).

Vernon Hills 13, Wheeling 1 (5 inn.): Wheeling's Brenden Spillane had a triple, but the Cougars produced runs in bunches in a nonconference matchup. Pat Crowley earned a victory and aslo produced at the plate with 3 hits, including a triple and 3 RBI, for Vernon Hills. The Cougars finished with 14 hits.

Lake Zurich 10, Rolling Meadows 3: The visiting Bears produced 10 hits in earning a nonconference victory over the Mustangs (10-10).

Sean O'Brien and Manny Zervos both had 2 hits. Erik Schurtz and O'Brien both doubled and drove in a run, and Bob Suchecki also had a double for Meadows.

Palatine 9, Burlington Central 4: Matt Saltess and Zach Serna both had 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Joey Roy drove in 3 to pace the Pirates (15-11) in nonconference play Saturday night. Patrick Seeberger pitched 3 innings and allowed 1 earned run to get the win.

Palatine 12, Schaumburg 9: In the continuation of a game suspended April 30 and tied 9-9 after nine innings, Palatine scored 3 runs in the top half of the 10th and held on to win.

Matt Saltess doubles for Palatine, while Schaumburg's Michael Fan had 2 doubles and Tyler Teele had a homer.

Correction: Saturday's print edition included some inaccurate information about Friday's game between Conant and Wheeling. Wheeling's pitching duties in that 11-inning contest were shared by Justin Webb (6 IP, 4 ER) and Brian Lorey (5 IP, 1 ER).
