Chicago and St. Paul mayors bet on hockey series

A Blackhawks playoff series win over the Minnesota Wild will put them closer to a second straight Stanley Cup, and Chicago's mayor in possession of a 25-pound salted nut roll.

That's because Mayor Rahm Emanuel has a bet with St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman on the outcome of the NHL playoff series that begins on Friday night at the United Center in Chicago.

If the Blackhawks win, Coleman sends Emanuel a Pearson's salted nut roll and a six-pack of Summit Beer from St. Paul. And if the Wild wins, Emanuel will be sending Coleman a six-pack of Half Acre Daisy Cutter beer, a barrel of Garrett's Popcorn, and some Chicago-style hot giardiniera. For those who don't know, giardiniera is a relish of pickled vegetables in vinegar or oil.
