Two teens charged in Hanover Park car burglaries

Two teenagers are accused of stealing from unlocked cars parked in Hanover Park, police said.

Tyler Beck, 19, of the 1900 block of Liberty St., Hanover Park, and Dakota Seaton, 18, of the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive, Palatine, each were charged with two felony counts of burglary to a motor vehicle. Seaton also faces a misdemeanor charge of resisting a peace officer.

Hanover Park police got a tip about suspects pulling on car door handles and entering unlocked vehicles on the 1800 block of Deforest Lane early April 29.

The department deployed its canine unit and shortly afterward tracked down the two teens on the 1700 block of Deforest Lane. They were found with loose change and a pocket knife taken from two cars, police said.

A DuPage County judge set bail at $50,000 for both Beck and Seaton.
