Lake Zurich's tops at Prospect

Meaghan Gelinas and Danielle Ufheil scored first-half goals, as Lake Zurich's soccer team won the championship of the Prospect Knights invite with a 2-0 win over the host school Saturday.

Nicole Rasiarmos and Siena Robertson had assists, while Elly Daleske got the shutout with 3 saves.

Lake Zurich (13-2) started the day by edging Prospect 1-0 in penalty kicks (5-4). Netting the PK goals for the Bears were Claire Skowron, Rasiarmos, Gelinas Katie McCurley and Ufheil. Daleske made 4 saves.

Grayslake North goes 1-1: At Lakes, the Knights defeated Woodstock North 7-0, before losing a 1-0 decision to Richmond-Burton on penalty kicks in the third-place match.

Grayslake North (2-2 tourny) got 2 goals from Kelley O'Brien against Woodstock North. The other goal scorers were Teagan Johnson, Chelsea Olson, Lindsey Allen, Jocelyn Rodriguez and Meghan McCue. Rodriguez, Kayla Hartigan, Mallori Hamelton, Sydney Paez, Kelly Meyer and Sarah Myers each had an assist.

Olson, Kendall Detweiler and Hartigan represented Grayslake North on the all-tournament team.
