Wauconda blanks Grant

Wauconda's girls soccer team stayed hot Thursday night.

Brittany Stepanian and Kira Ziolkowski scored unassisted goals, and the visiting Bulldogs shut out Grant 2-0 in North Suburban Prairie Division action for their sixth win in a row.

Ally Magiera made 4 saves in net to earn the shutout.

Wauconda (6-4-1, 3-0) scored a goal in each half.

Lakes 1, Grayslake North 0: Allison Vancrey scored a minute into the second half, as the host Eagles improved to 7-3 and 2-0 in their own tournament.

Kara Jones stopped 7 shots in notching the shutout.

"Our girls put in a really solid performance against a tough Lakes team, but unfortunately gave up one good chance that they were able to capitalize on," Knights coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "While for a majority of the game we had good purpose to our possession, we were unable to turn all of that possession and buildup into quality scoring chances."

Chelsea Olson and Meghan McCue stood out for Grayslake North, DeCaluwe added.

Vernon Hills 1, Antioch 0: At Lakes, the Cougars won in penalty kicks.

Lake Zurich 3, Stevenson 0: Meaghan Gelinas scored twice and Madeline Blasko had a goal and an assist for the visiting Bears in the North Suburban Lake match.

Jordan Jackson and Katie McCurley also had assists for Lake Zurich (10-2). Elly Daleske picked up the shutout with 4 saves.

Stevenson keeper Maddie Boutros had 11 saves.
