Burlington Central pitcher Danny Gerke held Harvard to an unearned run on 5 hits over 6 innings, and Parker Boron pitched a scoreless seventh to notch the save as the Rockets prevailed 3-1 in a Big Northern East road game.

Tanner Smith drove in 2 runs and Mike Lee doubled and drove in a run for Central (10-4, 4-1), which has won 4 straight on the heels of a 3-game slide.

Bartlett 12, West Chicago 10: The Hawks built an 11-1 lead and withstood a furious comeback to win this Upstate Eight Valley contest. Catcher Jordan Flint went 4-for-5 with a double and 4 RBI, Jake Barrutia finished 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI and Mike Wick was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI for Bartlett (5-9, 4-6). Starting pitcher Tripp Paris earned the win.

Streamwood 8, Elgin 1: Chad Caminitti led the Sabres to an Upstate Eight River victory on the mound and at the plate. Offensively, he went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. He also pitched a 4-hitter with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts to lead Streamwood (5-9, 3-5). Jon Nelson (2-3) took the loss for Elgin (5-7, 3-6).

St. Francis 11, St. Edward 1, 6 inn.: Ryan Nudd staked the Green Wave to a 1-0 lead with his first-inning RBI, but the Spartans scored 8 earned runs and collected 11 hits in this Suburban Christian win. Alex Lara was the losing pitcher for St. Edward (3-12-1, 2-5).

Westminster Christian 12, Alden-Hebron 6: The Warriors smacked 10 hits and took advantage of 6 errors by the Giants to score 12 runs (5 earned) in this Northeastern Athletic meeting in Elgin. Winning pitcher Nic Anguilo held A-H to 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 5 walks. Frank Anguilo doubled twice and Brendan Ruffolo, Luke Weston and Justin Rasmussen each had 2 hits for Westminster Christian (6-12).

Cary-Grove 12, Prairie Ridge 5: Matt Sutherland (3-for-4, walk), Larkin Hanselmann (2-for-3, RBI), Jimmy Perkins (2 RBI), George Hartke (2 RBI), Andrew Splitt (double, 3 runs) and Wyatt Mascarella (solo HR, walk) led a 10-hit attack in this FVC Valley contest. Hanselmann went the distance to earn the win on the mound for Cary-Grove (10-8, 5-3)

Dundee-Crown 2, Crystal Lake South 1: The Chargers scored the go-ahead run on Vince Damato's bases-loaded squeeze bunt with one out in the top of the seventh inning, and Dan Denz pitched a scoreless seventh inning with 2 strikeouts to save this victory for Dundee-Crown (9-7, 6-1), which swept the 2-game Fox Valley Conference Valley Division series. D-C starting pitcher Jared Ludwig allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 5 innings, and reliever Tyler Lewan was credited with the win after an inning of scoreless relief. Pitcher Matt Schingel held the Chargers to 2 earned runs on 4 hits, walked three and struck out six for CL South (7-6, 5-3).

Grayslake North 2, Hampshire 1: The Knights scored 2 unearned runs against starting pitcher Andrew Brown in the fifth inning and held on to win this Fox Valley Fox Division duel. Despite a defense the committed 6 errors behind him, Brown held Grayslake North to 4 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Michael Merchut had 2 hits and Dillon Kuhn doubled for Hampshire (5-10, 1-7).
