Bond set for teen in shooting of 14-year-old

Bond has been set at $950,000 for a Chicago teenager accused of shooting a 14-year-old after the victim denied being a street gang member.

During a Friday hearing, Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Glen Runk said 15-year-old Henry Jackson is charged as an adult for attempted murder and aggravated battery in shooting the victim at least six times before fleeing with two accomplices.

Runk says the victim was standing on a front porch with a relative when Jackson asked him if he was a member of the Gangster Disciples. When the victim said "no," one in the trio said he was and told Jackson to "blast him."

The victim was wounded in both legs and his left arm.

Police, who were two blocks away, apprehended Jackson and one accomplice.
