Lake Shore Drive reopened after suspicious package

Police investigating a suspicious package on Chicago's famed Lake Shore Drive have reopened the roadway.

The city of Chicago sent alerts that both north and southbound lanes were reopened Wednesday afternoon.

The lanes were shut down earlier in the afternoon between Wilson and Foster avenues after what police described as a bag was discovered on the roadway in the area. The police department's bomb and arson squad was dispatched to the scene and used robots to investigate. Police did not immediately say what was in the bag.
