Durbin banks more than $6 million for re-election bid
Democratic U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin has banked more than $6 million for his 2014 re-election campaign.
Durbin faces Republican state Sen. Jim Oberweis of Sugar Grove in November.
Durbin's campaign released a summary Wednesday of its most recent campaign finance filing.
The full report, which was due on Tuesday, has not yet been processed and posted online by the Federal Election Commission.
Durbin's campaign says the Senate's No. 2 Democrat has raised about $1.4 million from more than 8,400 donors since he announced last fall that he would seek his fourth term. That includes about $771,000 raised in the first three months of 2014.
Oberweis' report also had not been posted online as of Wednesday. The dairy magnate and money manager didn't immediately return a phone message.
