Hawks send Teravainen to Rockford

The writing was on the wall, and now it's official.

The Blackhawks on Thursday reassigned forward Teuvo Teravainen to the Rockford IceHogs.

The 19-year-old, the team's first-round pick in the 2012 draft, appeared in just three of nine games since his recall from Jokerit (Finland) on March 21 and had no points while averaging about 14 minutes of ice time per game.

Coach Joel Quenneville had talked about Teravainen's short stint with the Hawks prior to last week's game against Minnesota.

"He's been OK," Quenneville said. "I thought his first game he looked like it was a nice initiation to the league. I thought he handled himself very well and played in some tough buildings. I thought he did OK."
