Tesla questions Wisconsin lemon law king's motivations

MADISON, Wis. - Tesla Motors is questioning Wisconsin's self-proclaimed lemon law king's motivations in filing a lawsuit alleging the company sold a Franklin doctor a defective electric sedan.

Attorney Vince Megna filed the lawsuit earlier this week on behalf of Robert Montgomery. The lawsuit alleges Montgomery bought a 2013 SP Sedan in 2013 that ended up in the shop for more than 30 days to repair various problems and Tesla refused to give Montgomery a refund.

Tesla officials posted a blog entry on Wednesday saying they're skeptical of Megna's motivations. Service records show the company did everything it could to repair the vehicle and was still working with Montgomery right up to the point the lawsuit was filed. They say many of the vehicle's problems have elusive origins.

Megna had no immediate comment.
