Grayslake Central students meet FDR

Sitting in his wheelchair, Franklin Delano Roosevelt impressionist Ed O'Brien of Harvard performed his "New Deal" program for juniors in Adrijana Bisevac's AP U.S. history class at Grayslake Central High School Thursday.

O'Brien remained in character speaking in the first person and told the story of the polio stricken 32nd president of the United States.

"It's a great learning opportunity for our students," said organizer and U.S. history teacher Glen Roeck.

Juniors had just finished a section on the Great Depression and World War II.
