Driver cited in Antioch-area crash:

A 22-year-old man was charged with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a crash on Route 59 near Antioch late Tuesday. Joseph Lekics, 22, of Lake Villa, was southbound on Route 59 when he crossed the centerline one-quarter mile from Grass Lake Road and hit an oncoming Chrysler minivan, Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Sara Balmes said. The Volkswagen Lekics was driving also hit a mailbox, Balmes said. Lekics and a female passenger were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, along with the driver of the minivan, Balmes said. All three suffered nonlife threatening injuries, authorities said. A male passenger in the minivan was treated at the scene and released.
