Illinois Lottery winner to give to animal charity
An Illinois Lottery winner says she'll give part of her prize money to an animal charity.
Marta Paciorek recently won on a 50X The Cash instant ticket. The 41-year-old Chicagoan opted for a lump-sum payment of $2.4 million.
A Monday Illinois Lottery statement says she'll donate to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It doesn't say how much she'll give.
It also cites Paciorek as saying pets "deserve to be treated as members of the family." She has a 10-year old Labrador retriever.
Paciorek is originally from Poland and works in insurance. She bought her winning ticket at Jay's Food & Liquor in Chicago.
She has this advice for others lucky enough to win the lottery: She says, "Remember to share your good fortune."
