Atanus comments reflect many others

Atanus comments reflect many others

This is in response to a story that appeared in the March 22 edition, i.e. Cook County Republican Party vs. Susanna Atanus.

It would seem that the Cook County Republicans are asking Susanna Atanus to step down and not run for the 9th Congressional District. They say her comments do not reflect that of their party.

It does, however, reflect the thoughts of many others. We have watched our county spiral downhill for sometime now. Those of us who read the Bible and keep abreast of the news, can find many teachers that verify the things she stands for.

We know how God feels about abortion. He tells us in Psalms 139 how he knows who we are before we were in our mother's womb. We were someone before our country passed a law saying we were no one.

I hear women saying, "It's my body and I can do whatever I want," but the truth is we don't belong to ourselves. A man on the cross over 2,000 years ago bought you and me. He shed his blood for each of us. He shed his blood for each of us. That man we celebrate and remember is Jesus Christ, and Easter is the holiday we are soon to celebrate.

As for homosexuality, the Bible has a lot to say. One example is Leviticus 18:27 and 24.

Seems those who object to Susanna's running thought it strange she believes that God controls the weather. It seems strange that would be an issue since God did create the heavens and the earth. Why would you not believe he can control the weather?

I, for one, hope Susanna runs for her office and wins big time. I, on the other hand, am contemplating tearing up my Republican card.
